2018 Golden Globes: Why We Wear Black
By crystal » 2 years ago » Uncategorized

I was glued in to the much anticipated 2018 Golden Globes. Don’t get me wrong I am always glued to red carpets but last night had so much meaning. #WHYWEWEARBLACK #TIMESUP were two hashtags that ruled the night and is quickly taking over the mainstream media.

So what are these two hashtags?  We think Kerry Washington explained it best:

#TIMESUP on the imbalance of power. Wondering #WhyWeWearBlack ?!?!?! Because we stand with YOU! We stand in solidarity. Together we can end harassment, discrimination & abuse. And create safety, inclusion, equity & parity! FOR ALL PEOPLE. ACROSS ALL INDUSTRIES. We are a women led campaign but we are standing for ALL marginalized people. STAND WITH US. Wear black today.

Hollywood showed up and showed last night and gave a new meaning to ALL BLACK EVERYTHING! Here are some of our favorites:

Ava DuVernay kept it chic & classy in her in Armani Prive dress. We love the smoky eye and simple clutch.

Issa Rae definitely took a plunge in her in Prabal Gurung fit, barely there strap heels and perfect accessories!

Tracee Ellis Ross is by NO MEANS a stranger to smashing any and every red carpet. This time was no different. She rocked her Marc Jacobs frock to perfection.

Susan Kelechi Watson couldn’t be missed in this dope Monsoori jumpsuit . With a night full of gowns we adored seeing Susan in this one piece dazzler.
